Why Anatom Footwear?

At Bogong, we’ve just received our first shipment of footwear by Anatom. Designed and tested in Scotland, the models of Anatom footwear we're stocking are designed for walking and hiking.

If you've shopped at Bogong before, you'll know that we already stock a wide range of footwear from brands like La Sportiva, Asolo, Salomon and Vasque. The reason we're adding Anatom footwear to the mix is to give customers more options when it comes to fit. Being British, Anatom boots are designed with a wider last. Our experience tells us that this type of last fits a large number of our Australian customers very well.

How well footwear fits you is the single-most important factor when it comes to choosing a walking shoe or hiking boot. That's why Anatom owner and designer Gordon Fraser, of Edinburgh, measured over 60,000 pairs of feet before creating Anatom's unique lasts. The result is a fit that we believe suits a large percentage of our customers looking for walking shoes and bushwalking boots.

Anatom Soles

One of the great pluses of Anatom footwear is the fact that the models we've brought in have Vibram soles. Vibram is widely regarded as the highest quality soles in existence. Used across various outdoor disciplines – rock climbing shoes, for example – Vibram offers unparalelled friction to give you confidence when you're rock-hopping or tackling challenging terrain.

Is Anatom Footwear Waterproof?

Yes. Anatom uses its own waterproof membrane called Tri.aria. It's microporous and breathable. Like Gore-Tex, it works well with full-grain leathers and synthetic upper materials.

What are Anatom's 'Flex Levels'?

All Anatom shoes have a 'Flex Level' – 1 being the most flexible and 5 being the most rigid:

  • 1 (TRAIL)
  • 2 (HIKE)
  • 3 (TREK)
  • 4 (MOUNTAIN)
  • 5 (CLIMBING)

You'll notice on our Anatom Footwear page that incorporated into every Anatom product name, next to the Flex Level, is a 'Q' or 'V':

  • 'Q' indicates a leather upper
  • 'V' indicates a synthetic upper

These categories make it easier to narrow down your choices.

Where is Anatom Footwear Made?

Anatom footwear is handmade in Europe.
